What happened
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), ACF Tech, is re-establishing a matching program between the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and State Public Assistance Agencies (SPAAs). This program, signed by Donald Trump, provides SPAAs with VA's compensation and pension data to determine eligibility for public assistance benefits, starting initially for 18 months from approximately October 2026 through May 2027. The Department of Treasury's Do Not Pay conducts the data matches between SPAA and VA records.
